When the HR team faced the challenge of sourcing programmers in an extremely competitive candidate market, they decided to invest in intensive training on tools that could change the rules of the game in technical recruitment.

Three-day Sales Navigator training for HR

The training lasted three full days and was designed specifically for recruiters — not sales representatives. We focused on sourcing IT candidates using LinkedIn Sales Navigator, X-Ray Search techniques on LinkedIn, and linking data from GitHub, Stack Overflow, and other developer platforms with candidate profiles on LinkedIn. Each day concluded with hands-on exercises based on real recruitment projects the team was actively managing, ensuring that the knowledge could be applied immediately.

Results and takeaways

After the training, the HR team at Volkswagen Group Polska gained a complete set of tools and techniques for independently sourcing technical candidates. This project perfectly demonstrates that Sales Navigator is not exclusively a sales department tool. Combining Sales Navigator with X-Ray Search gives recruiters capabilities that no traditional job board can match, especially for niche roles in software engineering, DevOps, and data science.
